Please join Population Connection President John Seager for a timely discussion on the challenges of rapid population growth. John will be speaking on “Soaring Past 7 Billion: Population Challenges for a Crowded World.” His talk will address global population growth, its causes and impacts, and how we can meet those challenges. This event is free and open to the public and is sponsored by Humanists Doing Good.

Before joining Population Connection, John was with the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency. John also served as Chief of Staff for former U.S. Representative Peter H. Kostmayer (D-PA), a senior member of the House Foreign Affairs and Interior committees.

A veteran of more than 50 political campaigns, John has published op-eds and articles on population growth for a number of news outlets including Huffington Post, GlobalPost, and RH Reality Check.

John frequently speaks at conferences on population, the environment, and women’s empowerment. He also presents at colleges and universities across the United States, including the University of Chicago, Smith College, and University of California-San Diego. John graduated from Trinity College (CT) with a B.A. in Political Science.

Population Connection is the preeminent grassroots group for population education and advocacy with 300,000 members and supporters.

Founded in 1968 as Zero Population Growth (ZPG), Population Connection focuses on achieving global population stabilization through universal awareness and access to voluntary family planning together with the full empowerment of women.
