GRAND JUNCTION ELKS POKER RUN
3rd Annual Motorcycle Ride
9:00am, Grand Junction Elks Lodge
GRAND JUNCTION ELKS 3RD ANNUAL POKER RUN
Junction Elks Lodge #575 invites the public to ride in the 3rd Annual Motorcycle Poker Run and Charity Raffle to be held Sunday, July 27. No motorcycle? Any vehicle will do.
The ride begins with registration at the Elks Lodge, 249 S. 4th Street (4th and Ute) between 9 and 10 a.m. Buy your hand(s) and pick your first playing card for your five-card poker hand. Each hand costs $10. Passengers’ and extra hands are $5.
The second card is drawn at JD’s Tavern in Fruita, 155 Mulberry. Draw your third card at Mesa Lakes Lodge, Scenic Highway CO 65, on Grand Mesa. Your fourth stop is Delta Elks Lodge, 563 Main Street, and the final card is drawn back at the Grand Junction Lodge. Hands must be turned in at the Grand Junction Elks Lodge by 4 p.m.
Best and worst hands will split the entry pot 60/40.
But poker is just the beginning of the fun. Raffle tickets go on sale at 3 p.m., and the array of prizes is impressive, including overnight and multi-day fun packages from a dozen hotels, casinos, resorts, and lodges. Nearly 70 local and regional businesses and restaurants have donated valuable gifts for the raffle. You do not have to ride to enter the drawings.
Food and beverages will be available at Elks Lodge #575, and the Goodman Band will provide live entertainment from 5 to 8 p.m.
The Elks proudly sponsor youth, veterans, and community programs. Proceeds from this event will help fund the Elks charitable endeavors.

Are you interested in throwing clay on the wheel but aren’t ready to enroll in a full class? This half-day workshop is for you! We will walk you through the steps of making your very own bowl. At the end of the class, you will have a choice of glazes from which to pick. We’ll glaze and fire your bowl; it will be ready for pickup 2 weeks following the class. While this is not intended to include in-depth discussions about ceramics, it will provide you with an excellent overview of what makes ceramics so challenging and rewarding!
