Workshop with Dee Wernette September 10th, 17th & 24th 6:30 p.m. 8:00 p.m. 536 Ouraye Avenue All are welcome! (No admission charge.) In conjunction with Campaign Nonviolence Action Days, Sept 21-Oct 2 Dee Wernette will be offering a 3-part workshop on conflict and conservation. In this workshop we will define and discuss conflict and cooperation, various conflict resolution options, and identify issues underlying conflicts. We will discuss and apply concepts and communication techniques to conflict examples. Participants will be encouraged to bring other examples of conflicts to subsequent classes, for application of the conflict options. Limited role-playing opportunities will be offered to practice and apply skills/techniques in the context of the participants' examples. Dee taught a sociology of conflict course at the university level for 25+ years, and trained federal staff on conflict management/resolution techniques at a Dept. of Energy national laboratory. Healso published articles in related peer-reviewed journals. Number of class meetings, length of time: 3 classes, 1.5-2 hours each This workshop is part of the Campaign Nonviolence Action Days, Sept 21-Oct 2, 2024, to build a culture of peace and active nonviolence, free from war, poverty, racism, and environmental destruction.
