KAFM Film Series
The Lady Eve

Add to your calendar
Date: May 1
Location: KAFM Radio Room
Details: "If I were asked to name the single scene in all of romantic comedy that was sexiest and funniest at the same time, I would advise beginning at six seconds past the 20-minute mark in Preston Sturges' "The Lady Eve,” and watching as Barbara Stanwyck toys with Henry Fonda's hair in an unbroken shot that lasts three minutes and 51 seconds." Roger Ebert.
Director Preston Sturges had huge hit in 1941 with this screwball comedy that he wrote and directed starring Henry Fonda and Barbara Stanwyck. A trio of classy card sharks targets the socially awkward heir to brewery millions for his money, until one of them falls in love with him. Recognized as one of the greatest movies ever made this classic blends slapstick and satire in a beautiful package of entertainment. Show starts at 7pm Doors open at 6:30 and tickets are $5. Popcorn, candy, and drinks will all be available for a great movie experience.
General Admission: $5.00
