Each year during Hispanic Heritage Month, Americans celebrate the contributions that the Latino community has made to our country. The celebration more...0 runs from Sep. 15 to Oct. 15. We are pleased to co-host the annual kick-off celebration again this year with the Western Colorado Latino Chamber of Commerce and Hispanic Affairs Project. This is a free event for the community, featuring music, dance performances, and the presentation of the Hispanic Advancement Award. The kick-off will be in conjunction with the opening of the exhibition, Why Am I.

Join other community members to discuss "Should local governments be involved in public art?" At the Table Colorado (ATTC) brings people more...0 from all walks of life together, during the same week, to participate in a series of free community-wide conversations about what makes their neighborhoods/communities/regions great and what can be done to make them even better -- more sustainable, stronger, and vibrant. This event is co-hosted by At The Table Colorado. Light refreshments and drinks will be provided. Participants are welcome to bring their own sack dinner. If you're unable to attend this event, or the topic doesn't appeal to you, consider hosting your own table! Study rooms at the library may be reserved for this purpose. Registration is encouraged.

Come on out and show your furry family loving Colorado pride by painting this fun flag scene! Our artist will walk you thru it, step by step. more...0 Everything will be provided for you, just come in, order some drinks/snacks from our wait staff and paint with us! After Registering: Email us the species and breed of your pet along with your name to CreativeCanvasParty@Gmail.com. Do this for each person coming (if paying for friends). Please put the date of the event in the subject line of the email. We will sketch that breed along with their "footprint" on the pre-sketched flag canvas. If your pet is different from "breed standard" please note the differences or send a picture. We will be sketching breed standards unless told otherwise. Have a mixed breed pet? No problem! Just send us a level picture of your pet (siting or standing) and we'll sketch out his/her silhouette from the picture. Standing side profiles come out the best. PET SPECIES & BREED SUBMISSION DEADLINE: Wednesday, September 12th That's all folks! Want a hand painted portrait of your own pet that you did yourself? Come on out and paint your pet under our artist's direction. We'll walk more...0 you thru it, step by step. Everything will be provided for you, just come in, relax and paint with us! PET PICTURE SUBMISSION DEADLINE: Wednesday, September 12th What you need after registering: * Your favorite picture of your pet! Any pet! Horse, Dog, Cat, Bird, Turtle, even the family fish! Head-shots of your pet are typically the easiest and have the best result! Don't worry about the background in your photo, you can add any background you want when its painting time! We will only sketch the pet. * Email that photo along with your name and the date of the event to CreativeCanvasParty@Gmail.com. Do this for each person coming (if paying for friends). One pet per canvas as 2 pets can take too long to paint. PICTURE SUBMISSION DEADLINE: Wednesday, September 12th * Let me know if you want something special added to your pet for the painting. some people like to add sunglasses, hats, your pets name, etc. ANYTHING IS POSSIBLE!!!
