An Exposition of Song and Dance

Grand Junction, CO – The Grand Junction Centennial Band will present their spring performance, ‘Song + Dance”, Wednesday, March 7, more...0 2018 in CMU’s Robinson Theatre. The concert will begin at 7:30 pm and admission is free to the public. This performance showcases toe-tapping traditional concert band literature that audience members will not be able to resist moving along to, including Peter Tchaikovsky’s ‘Dance of the Jesters’ and a thrilling arrangement of ‘Russian Sailor’s Dance’. The Grand Junction Centennial Band is a volunteer organization of more than 60 wind and percussion players from around the Grand Valley. Dr. Jonathan Hinkle currently serves as the conductor of the band, in addition to his responsibilities to the CMU Faculty and his leadership of the Maverick Stampede Marching Band. Dr. Hinkle has a life-long appreciation for community bands and brings his extraordinary talents to the stage with the Grand Junction Centennial Band this performance.
