If the weather this winter has got you thinking about climate change, you’ll want to catch the new documentary, “Saving more...0 Snow.” Citizens’ Climate Lobby is presenting three FREE local screenings: At the Grand Junction Central Library on Thursday, March 1st, at 5:30 p.m. … At the Palisade Community Center on Friday the 2nd, at 6 p.m. … And at the CMU Ballroom on Tuesday the 6th, at 6 p.m. The last one is co-hosted by the CMU Sustainability Council. “Saving Snow” paints a fond portrait of people who love winter and depend on it for their livelihood.

Mary Robinson is a mixed media artist, Associate Professor and Head of Printmaking at the University of South Carolina School of Visual Art and more...0 Design. In this one-hour presentation, she will speak about the practice of observation as it relates to making art and understanding the world. She will include such topics as working with the unexpected, repetition and variation in printmaking, collaborating with other artists, and meditation.

Clyde and the Milltailers is a Colorado based “Rag-Grass” band that features a changing list of musicians around Steve Kilcrease aka more...0 “Clyde” and David Rowley. The songwriting and style is heavily influenced by early American jazz, folk and appalachian old time. The band’s core songwriter “Clyde” who also performs solo under “Clyde of the Milltailers” started writing songs while traveling in his youth. Having gone to the same high school and hung around the same crowd after, Steve and Dave became friends though going to shows and being apart of the local DIY scene. The two both went on to play in local bands in the years to follow. The two formed what was originally a duo in 2015 and named the band after the radioactive, uranium mill tailings that were used for sidewalks and house foundations in their hometown of Grand Junction Colorado. $5 Admission
