CLAY PARKER & JODI JAMES : LIVE AT HEALTHY RHYTHM
7:30pm-9:30pm, Healthy Rhythm Art Gallery, 68 S Grand Ave, Montrose, CO
Healthy Rhythm Music Services Presents "CLAY PARKER & JODI JAMES W/ ROY CATLIN :: LIVE AT HEALTHY RHYTHM" • Saturday evening, May

25th, in The Listening Room of Healthy Rhythm Art Gallery, located at historic Sampler Square (68 S Grand Ave) in downtown Montrose, Colorado! Doors open at 7:00 p.m. Concert starts at 7:30 p.m. Street and rear lot parking available. In ‘When the Curfew Blows,’ Woody Guthrie bellows, “Was the lonesomest sound, boys/ that ever heard sound, boys/ like the midnight wind, boy/ when the curfew blows.” Gaining their footing in the marshy bayous of Baton Rouge, Louisiana, CLAY PARKER AND JODI JAMES would later hear Guthrie’s lyrics and model a life off of the late songwriter’s distinctive demeanor. Taking a cue from Louisiana traditions and closely following in the footsteps of Guthrie, the duo have followed the streams of Southern music sources, generating a lifestyle tinged with the mystery of traditional Americana. In explaining the origins of their recent album, Clay recounts the traditional folk fable, ‘Stone Soup’. Within the tale, a homeless man approaches a strange town with nothing but stones in his pocket to offer the townspeople. With the help of the generosity of strangers who offer a single ingredient at a time, the homeless man is able to make a pot of soup large enough for the whole town to eat. “The recording came together in an interesting way first and foremost because we’re poor,” jokes Clay. “There were people that simply heard us and believed in what we were doing and offered their services for next to nothing. That’s really how this record came about.” If there was ever a need for Stone Soup, Clay Parker and Jodi James have surely perfected the recipe.

For more information or questions please call 970-263-5700. 2019 Rating: PG Genre: Animation, Kids & Family, Science Fiction & Fantasy Runtime: 112 minutes From Disney and visionary director Tim Burton, the all-new grand live-action adventure "Dumbo" expands on the beloved classic story where differences are celebrated, family is cherished, and dreams take flight. Circus owner Max Medici (Danny DeVito) enlists former star Holt Farrier (Colin Farrell) and his children Milly (Nico Parker) and Joe (Finley Hobbins) to care for a newborn elephant whose oversized ears make him a laughingstock in an already struggling circus. But when they discover that Dumbo can fly, the circus makes an incredible comeback, attracting persuasive entrepreneur V.A. Vandevere (Michael Keaton), who recruits the peculiar pachyderm for his newest, larger-than-life entertainment venture, Dreamland. Dumbo soars to new heights alongside a charming and spectacular aerial artist, Colette Marchant (Eva Green), until Holt learns that beneath its shiny veneer, Dreamland is full of dark secrets.

3RD ANNUAL GRAND ENDURO
a classic Grand Valley Mountain Bike Race
8:00am-9:00pm, 2490 Monument Rd, Grand Junction, CO 81507
The Grand Enduro is a classic Grand Valley mountain bike race hosted on one of the few "shuttle-able" local trails in and around Grand

Junction's Lunch Loops Trail System. MAD Racing Colorado secured the permits to take you down this legendary route for the 3rd year in a row. The Grand Enduro course will challenge you on three demanding stages. For those unfamiliar, the nature of these trails is very technical and require expert handling skills as well as solid fitness. You'll start on an otherworldly, humongous slab of rock and be hitting speeds in excess of 30mph in a matter of seconds. Riders who aren't racing generally take their time on this section to carve the lunar-like landscape, but the clock will be running on you! You need to get off that rock and onto the singletrack as soon as possible! We'll have it heavily taped, but pay particular attention during practice for landmarks that will help you navigate the correct route - a missed turn or off-course excursion could cost you loads of time, at best, and at worst, send you plummeting off a cliff!
