Wine by the River event. The Western Colorado Botanic Gardens will be the setting for live music, tasty food, and specialty whiskey and wine. Tickets can be purchased at 970tix.com and cost $45. All proceeds benefit CDA programs which strive to increase the independence, self-confidence, self-worth, and education of people with disabilities, their families and friends, through outdoor recreation. “CDA is such an amazing program with exceptional clients, but it takes a lot of resources to provide quality outdoor experiences for people with disabilities—this event is a fun way for people to help out,” said Event Chair, Sherry Schriener. Enjoy delectable hors d’oeuvres and cocktails beginning at 6:00 p.m. and music by the Sweet Lillies from Denver. In addition to awesome music, food, and libations, there will be a silent auction with great items such as a Hala stand up paddleboard, luggage by Patagonia, and fabulous adventure trips. All funds raised through the auction and event make it possible for CDA to continue serving people with disabilities. Put on your Chacos and come on down to the river for an evening of food, drink, and fun! For the past 39 years, Colorado Discover Ability (CDA) has been providing outdoor recreation opportunities for people with disabilities in Mesa County and surrounding communities. We started as an adaptive skiing program at Powderhorn Mountain Resort in 1980. River rafting, day camps for children and adults, adaptive cycling, and Camp Freedom –an annual overnight camp for children with severe disabilities have been added to the program offerings since then. We seek to provide an integrated, authentic experience for clients, family and friends. We achieve this by providing an array of equipment and an enthusiastic staff and group of volunteers who focus on enabling the person to participate to his or her greatest ability. The end goal is to instill a great desire and ability on behalf of our client to continue to recreate on their own, or at least with as much independence as possible.

For Ticket sales, click here https://www.grandvalleyyogafest.com/tickets-passes/ About the Cause.Mesa County has the highest suicide rates in Colorado and in the top 10 in the nation. The Grand Valley Yoga Fest started with 2 local yoga teachers, Elizabeth Whitt and Lori Raper, who were determined to make a difference in their community for suicide and mental health. Being in the yoga world, they are aware of the positive outcomes that yoga can have on mental health. With suicide numbers continuing to rise, and in many cases funding for mental health declining, they collaborated to design a yoga festival to spread yoga, get community members to connect and have fun through yoga, as well as give back. The Grand Valley Yoga Fest is a non-profit. 100% of the proceeds will go to suicide awareness programs in the Grand Valley.
