Cowboy Junkies are a Canadian alternative country/blues/folk rock band. The group was formed in Toronto in 1985 by Margo Timmins (vocalist), Michael Timmins (songwriter, guitarist), Peter Timmins (drummer) and Alan Anton (bassist). The Junkies first performed publicly at the Beverley Tavern and other clubs in Toronto’s Queen Street West, including The Rivoli. Their 1986 debut album, produced by Canadian producer Peter Moore, was the blues-inspired Whites Off Earth Now!!, recorded using an ambisonic microphone in the family garage. The group’s fame spread with their second album, The Trinity Session, recorded in 1987 at Toronto’s Church of the Holy Trinity. Their sound, again using the ambisonic microphone, and their mix of blues, country, folk, rock andjazz earned them both critical attention and a cult following. The Los Angeles Times named the recording as one of the ten best albums of 1988. The band was nominated for Group of the Year at the Juno Awards in 1990 and 1991. In the early 1990s Margo Timmins was named “one of the fifty most beautiful people in the world” by People Magazine. The group has continued to tour North America, Europe, Japan and Australia with extensive North American and European tours following album releases in 2002 and 2004. In 2008, they released Trinity Revisited in celebration of the 20th anniversary of the original recording of The Trinity Session. Click here for the event website |

of Austin, but lately he's been making waves far beyond the borders of the Lone Star State. Taking the stage with a jerry-rigged drum kit that includes a suitcase, Shakey Graves, a.k.a. Alejandro Rose Garcia, captivates audiences with a variety of idiosyncratic techniques including unexpected tempo changes, drastic register shifts, and his off-kilter lyric sensibility. Whether he's crooning on "Built to Roam" or creating an intricate percussion backdrop on "Roll the Bones", Shakey Graves always satisfies on his unforgettable tours. Shakey Graves is the one-man band of Alejandro Rose Garcia, an actor turned singer-songwriter who launched the project in 2009 while living in Los Angeles. After cutting his teeth in LA's eclectic underground folk scene he returned to his hometown of Austin, TX, where he quickly became a huge local draw with his unique performances at venues on and around artsy Annie Street. In 2011 he released Roll the Bones, wowing critics with his creative, lo-fi take on traditional folk and receiving a nod from NPR, which named him one of ten artists fans "should've known in 2012." He followed up with the Donor Blues EP in 2012, a bluesy slice of poetic folk that drew another round of praise. As renowned for his one-man performances as he is for his recordings, Shakey Graves continues to stun on his must-see tours

to become brothers. There have been bumps along the way. Lineup changes, people coming and going (a massive and sincere thank you to everyone who has stepped in to help keep this thing going), but the core has always been the same. We’ve been through so much together – we’ve travelled the world and experienced the highest of highs and the lowest of lows. This past year has been a time of reflection and learning. What we know for sure is that TDS just isn’t TDS without the four of us, so we want to continue this journey with Danny. We look forward to playing shows again, and we look forward to doing this with our original lineup. We love our fans, and we can’t wait to see your beautiful faces out there! A rock band without a drummer, a bluegrass band without a fiddler. To the gentlemen of the Dead South, a self-styled 4-piece string band from Regina, Saskatchewan, it’s about how, not what, you play. Their sound, built on a taut configuration of cello, mandolin, banjo and guitar, speeds like a train past polite definitions of acoustic music into the grittier, rowdier spaces of the bluegrass world. In June 2020, The Dead South celebrated their second JUNO Award win for Traditional Roots Album of the Year (Sugar & Joy - Six Shooter Records), announced in a virtual awards show that also featured the bluegrass quartet performing at an empty venue in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, the intended host city. As displayed on the marquee at the start of the clip (JUNOS 2020 CANCELLED), last year’s event took a much different form.
