steps you can take in your own backyard. First, Gigi Richard, a hydrologist and Principal at Confluence Solutions, will set the stage by breaking down the current hydrology of the Colorado River, giving us a clear look at the vital lifeblood of our region. Then, Deb Kennard, CMU Professor of Environmental Science & Technology, will bring the conversation home by providing water-wise landscaping techniques to help homeowners reduce outdoor water use. Whether you want to better understand the future of Western water or looking for easy ways to reduce your own footprint, this presentation offers the knowledge and tools our community needs to collectively shape a sustainable future. Come early at 5:00 PM to celebrate the official ribbon cutting of our brand-new Colorado River Flow Exhibit, generously made possible by the Colorado Water Conservation Board and Ute Water!

“the hard stuff” life hands out along the way. Nearly three decades after writing “Wide Open Spaces,” which became one of the biggest country songs of all time, Gibson has continued building a life on the road — traveling with dogs, songs, and a clear-eyed commitment to telling the truth. Her work carries the perspective of someone who has known grief, sobriety, family loss, van trouble, heartbreak, and healing, but still finds a way to leave listeners feeling wiser, lighter, and uplifted.
On The Hard Stuff, Gibson writes about the things that hurt without getting lost in the darkness. Her songs are rooted in specificity, honesty, humor, and resilience — the kind of writing that turns raw grief into stories, scars, and connection. Whether performing in intimate listening rooms, teaching songwriting workshops, or aiming a lyric directly at the few people in the room who are truly listening, Gibson approaches music with intention and heart. Her gift is not just in writing songs that endure, but in making personal stories feel deeply shared.
Show starts at 7, doors open at 6:30
