Come On & Sing! Join us for a fun day of singing a cappella music at the “A Cappella Junction Harmony Festival” on Saturday, July 12, more...0 2025. Women, age 12 and up, are welcome to register for the fun filled FREE event. Learn two songs and learn about a cappella singing in the Barbershop Style. We will provide all those who register and attend with a free lunch and a memorable tee shirt & bag. This is a wonderful opportunity to sing and explore music with a fun and dedicated group of women who enjoy sharing the gift of singing! The event will be held at the Redlands United Methodist Church. It is located at 527 Village Way, Grand Junction, CO 81507. Our festival starts at 10 am and goes until 5pm. We will present a free public concert at 5 pm to show what we’ve learned during our festival. “A Cappella Junction Harmony Festival” is sponsored by Sweet Adelines International and will be hosted by Grand Mesa A Cappella Chorus. Equal parts twang and tender, youthfully optimistic and world weary, the young songstress' command of emotion belies her years, carving a new niche in Appalachian-born music where all roads lead back to the human heart. We are super excited to host Angela for the first concert in our 2025 series!

Classical Guitar Meets West African Music

South African guitar legend Derek Gripper has been described as a "once-in-a-lifetime musician" - rewriting the narrative of classical more...0 guitar by infusing it with the sounds of the West African kora, and in the process creating 21-string magic on a 6-string instrument. A groundbreaking musical iconoclast known for founding genre-defying ensembles, Gripper has collaborated with musical heavyweights including Ballake Sissoko, Toumani Diabaté, American cellist Mike Block, and Australian classical guitar god John Williams. Having graced world stages from Cape Town to Vancouver and played storied venues from Glasgow's Royal Concert Hall to the Kennedy Center to Carnegie Hall, Gripper's one-night appearance for an intimate show in Paonia in between Denver and Miami dates is one not to be missed.

Ben Folds is widely regarded as one of the major music influencers of our generation. The Emmy-nominated singer-songwriter-composer has created an more...0 enormous body of genre-bending music that includes pop albums with Ben Folds Five, multiple solo albums, and numerous collaborative records. His latest pop solo album was released in 2023 to rave reviews and sold-out performances. He released his first Christmas album in 2024 and last Fall recorded a LIVE album slated for release in 2025 with the National Symphony Orchestra (NSO) at the Kennedy Center in DC where he served for eight years as the first Artistic Advisor to the NSO. He currently tours as a pop artist, while also performing with some of the world’s greatest symphony orchestras. A New York Times Best Selling author and former podcast host, Ben is also working on new compositions for film, tv and theatre. He also frequently guest stars in films and TV. In 2022, Ben launched a music education charitable initiative in his native state of North Carolina entitled “Keys For Kids,” which provides funds and keyboards to existing nonprofits that offer free or affordable piano lessons to school-age children from economically-disadvantaged households. And he continually advocates for improving public policies for the arts and arts education on the national level as a member of Americans For The Arts and the Arts Action Fund.
