Rainbow Journey: Karen Kreyeski
Add to your calendar
Date: January 25, 9:00 am
Location: The Art Center
Details: Many myths associated the rainbow with dream time when earth and heaven were in easy communication with one another, a time when deities, spirits and mortals could pass back and forth on the rainbow bridge.
Karen Kreyeski’s objective is not to realistically represent the regional landscape and people therein as much as to express a state of mind about the place or people at a given time. Respect, amusement, joy, awe, humility, love, curiosity, as well as anger, fear, and dread are only part of this journey’s legacy.
“To interpret these various emotions in the work, I exaggerated or in some instances, completely altered the real colors. I also have manipulated the compositional elements into a magical realism to focus on what I find important.“ The artist hopes the viewer will find their own connections as they move through the exhibit.

Gallery hours are Tuesday - Saturday, 9am - 4pm. Admission is $3 for non-members. Admission is free for members, all students with current student ID, and children under 12. Tuesdays are always free thanks to Allied Insurance and Home Loan Investments.
