A treasured holiday tradition returns as The Nutcracker sweeps audiences into a world of dancing snowflakes, mischievous mice, and sugarplum dreams. With dazzling costumes, enchanting sets, and a cast of professional talent, this seasonal favorite continues to delight audiences of all ages across Western Colorado. The story On Christmas Eve, young Clara receives a magical nutcracker that leads her on an enchanting journey. After a fierce battle with the Rat King, the Nutcracker becomes a prince and whisks Clara away to the Land of Sweets, where they are welcomed with dazzling dances from around the world. All performances are under two hours including a 20 minute intermission. Opportunities for photos and to meet the cast follows each performance at no additional cost to our community. Colorado West Ballet (formerly CO West Performing Arts Company) is a 501(c)3 company established in 2022 to bring more professional performing arts to Western CO and surrounding rural communities. Professional company artists from around the world have relocated to beautiful Grand Junction to reside and dedicate themselves to their artform for our community.
