Grand Valley Community Theatre is returning to the stage this spring with the powerful courtroom drama 12 Angry Men. Performances will be April 17, more...0 18, 24, and 25 at 7:00 PM at The Art Center in Grand Junction. The play follows twelve jurors deciding the fate of a teenage boy accused of murder. What begins as an open-and-shut case turns into a tense discussion about prejudice, doubt, and the importance of reasonable doubt. As the jurors debate the evidence, one man challenges the others to look beyond their assumptions. Originally founded in 1998, Grand Valley Community Theatre produced more than 30 shows in the valley before going on hiatus several years ago. The organization is excited to return and once again bring live community theatre to the area. Tickets are $15. Triple Play Records is set to host Record Store Day 2026 starting at 10am on Saturday April 18th with hundreds of limited, one-of-a-kind independent more...0 record store exclusives ONLY available at your local record store. These releases are available for the first time only on Saturday April 18th, worldwide. The first 100 customers who come early will receive limited edition Record Store Day poster and promotional merch with purchase while supplies last. John Tonic from Tonic Selects Sound-System will be spinning records all morning starting at 9 A.M. Charles “Chuck Jay” Walker will be performing that afternoon at 2 P.M. Limited edition t-shirts, tote bags, and poster will be available for purchase. Rhyan Montgomery is our artist for this year’s RSD 2026 poster. The Little Pink Truck a local food truck will be set up out front serving breakfast and lunch. Record Store Day was conceived in 2007 at a gathering of independent record store owners and employees as a way to celebrate and spread the word about the unique culture surrounding nearly 1400 independently owned record stores in the US and thousands of similar stores internationally. The first Record Store Day took place on April 19, 2008. Today, Record Store Day is celebrated at independently owned brick-and-mortar record stores around the world. This is a day for the people who make up the world of the record store—the staff, the customers, and the artists—to come together and celebrate the unique culture of a record store and the special role they play in their communities. Special vinyl and CD releases and various promotional products are made exclusively for the day. A Record Store Day participating store is defined as a brick and mortar retailer whose main primary business focuses on full time, stand alone physical store locations, with a major commitment to music retail, and whose company is independently owned, and not publicly traded. (In other words, we’re dealing with real, live, physical, indie record stores—not online retailers or corporate behemoths).

A refined musician, Jun Watabe, DA, has appeared as featured soloist in many national and international scenes to rave reviews. He travels across the more...0 country for concerts and lectures at conferences and universities. Watabe also lives an unusual performing career of two completely different single reed instruments - the clarinet and the saxophone. The diverse natures of the two instruments serve to elevate his artistry and enhance his musical common sense, and at the same time make his musical interpretations and performances unique. Adrian Herrera-Escobar, DMA, is an assistant professor of music at Colorado Mesa University. During more than 30 years of his career, he had the opportunity to be associated with different jazz and contemporary music programs at universities in Colombia. His duties have included teaching classes such as Jazz and Contemporary Improvisation, small combos, and big band ensembles, Jazz and Popular keyboard, Jazz History, Western Music Theory, Jazz Theory, and Jazz Piano. He has extensive experience working with music staff departments on coordination and assessment of jazz and contemporary music programs.
